The Cherryville High School cheerleaders have won multiple state championships and have been recognized for their hard work in the classroom, earning honors for having one of the top team grade-point averages in the state.

Thanks to our partnership with Kintegra Health, we offer a telehealth clinic here at our school. Students, who are experiencing a minor illness or condition, can be seen by a medical provider virtually. This allows us to provide care for students without them having to leave school to go to the doctor.

Our United Way campaign is October 27-November 7

The Gaston County United Way is kicking off its 2025-2026 fundraising campaign, and Gaston County Schools is proud to be a part of it. Last year was a record-setting campaign for us with more than $132,000 contributed by our schools, employees, students, and parents to support our community in three major areas: education, health and wellness, and financial stability.  Our fundraising campaign is coming up October 27 - November 7, and we know that everyone in Gaston County Schools will step up, make a contribution, and give us another great year for helping the local programs and agencies that are supported by the United Way.

School-based telehealth clinic now available for students

Gaston County Schools is partnering with Kintegra Health to provide a school-based telehealth clinic, giving students access to medical care without leaving campus.

Through the telehealth clinic, students can connect with a Kintegra Health medical provider using secure video technology. A trained clinical professional will be with the student during the visit to assist with the exam and communicate with the provider.

National School Psychology Week

National School Psychology Week is November 3-7. This year's theme is Finding Your Path. Our school psychologists play a very important role in the educational process – they help students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally and emotionally. We commend and thank our school psychologists for their commitment to Gaston County Schools.

Veterans Day Holiday

Tuesday, November 11 is a holiday for students and employees. All schools and central level offices will be closed. We salute and thank all veterans who have served our country.

Cherryville High School continues to meet or exceed growth expectations on state End-of-Course tests, and our students regularly earn local and regional awards in art.

Community Support

For almost 15 years, the Cherryville High School Education Foundation has supported our school by providing grants and, most recently, helping fund a new science lab.

The Cherryville High School Education Foundation provided funds for an outdoor classroom.

Clubs and Activities

We offer a wide variety of clubs for students to join and get involved. Some of the most popular clubs include the Encompass Club, Interact Club, Bible Club, Drama Club, and Gaming Club.

Cherryville High School has a strong athletic tradition, competing for conference championships in both boys' and girls' sports.
