The Cherryville High School cheerleaders have won multiple state championships and have been recognized for their hard work in the classroom, earning honors for having one of the top team grade-point averages in the state.

Thanks to our partnership with Kintegra Health, we offer a telehealth clinic here at our school. Students, who are experiencing a minor illness or condition, can be seen by a medical provider virtually.

We are pleased to welcome new students to Gaston County Schools. To begin the enrollment process, please download our student assignment application.
Gaston County Schools will operate on a four-day, 10-hour work week this summer. School and central level offices will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. All offices will be closed on Friday. Summer hours run through June 1-July 31.
Looking for a career that makes a difference? Gaston County Schools is hosting a job fair on Thursday, June 18, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Gaston County Public Library, 1555 E. Garrison Blvd.
The job fair will focus on secondary teaching vacancies, school nutrition positions, and bus driver opportunities.

SUN Bucks is a program from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that helps families buy groceries during the summer months when school is out. Eligible families will receive a one-time payment of $120 per child on a debit-like card. The card can be used to purchase nutritious food during the summer months when schools are out. The Board of Education approved the 2026-27 school calendar. The calendar was adopted during the board meeting on December 15, 2025, and revised March 16, 2026, to change the optional teacher workday from June 1, 2027, to August 4, 2026.
