The Cherryville High School cheerleaders have won multiple state championships and have been recognized for their hard work in the classroom, earning honors for having one of the top team grade-point averages in the state.

Summer Hours

Gaston County Schools will operate on a four-day, 10-hour work week this summer. School and central level offices will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. All offices will be closed on Friday. Summer hours run through June 1-July 31.

Job Fair set for June 18

Looking for a career that makes a difference? Gaston County Schools is hosting a job fair on Thursday, June 18, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Gaston County Public Library, 1555 E. Garrison Blvd.

The job fair will focus on secondary teaching vacancies, school nutrition positions, and bus driver opportunities.

SUN Bucks Available to Support Families This Summer

SUN Bucks is a program from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that helps families buy groceries during the summer months when school is out. Eligible families will receive a one-time payment of $120 per child on a debit-like card. The card can be used to purchase nutritious food during the summer months when schools are out. Board Approves 2026-2027 School Calendar

The Board of Education approved the 2026-27 school calendar. The calendar was adopted during the board meeting on December 15, 2025, and revised March 16, 2026, to change the optional teacher workday from June 1, 2027, to August 4, 2026. Community Support

For almost 15 years, the Cherryville High School Education Foundation has supported our school by providing grants and, most recently, helping fund a new science lab.

Clubs and Activities

We offer a wide variety of clubs for students to join and get involved. Some of the most popular clubs include the Encompass Club, Interact Club, Bible Club, Drama Club, and Gaming Club.
