Academics

At Cherryville High School, students can take a wide range of classes that get them ready for college, careers, and life after graduation. Since 2014, our students have met or exceeded growth expectations on end-of-course tests.
We offer challenging Advanced Placement (AP) courses and the Career and College Promise (CCP) program, which lets students earn college credit while still in high school. Students can also take online classes through Gaston Online and the North Carolina Virtual Public School.
In addition to core subjects, students can explore their interests through classes in Art, Band, Chorus, and Foreign Languages.
Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program offers real-world learning in areas such as:
- Internships and Apprenticeships
- Microsoft Office
- Adobe Design Tools
- Carpentry / Electrical
- Health Sciences and Nursing Fundamentals
- Public Safety / Law and Justice
- Entrepreneurship, Sales
- Foods and Nutrition
- Culinary Arts and Hospitality

With so many options, every student has the chance to find a path that fits their goals and passions.
